When is the best time to lay grass seeds in California?

2. southern or northern CA? Northern CA -seed now
3. during the spring or fall months would be the best the weather is not to hot in the spring and not to cold in the fall,but in california depending exactly where you are at any time could be good
4. Now is good. Spring in general. In California I would not seed in the fall it is into the 100s through October and can still be very hot in November.
5. The best time is when the nights stay around 50 degrees. Grass prefers cool weather. You can plant in the fall but spring is better.
