The Grass Doctor

what kind of grass seed do I buy to plant for my indoor cat to eat?

  1. I buy the kind you find in stores' pet sections. For about $4 you buy these bowls with grass seeds in it. you add water and grass begins to grow. In 4-6 days the cats go crazy eating the small little forest of green grass.
  2. it's called "cat grass" here in UK! (original name i know!!) you can get it at pet stores or garden shops!
  3. Wheat grass is a good choice. You can sometimes find it in the produce section already sprouted at the grocery store.
  4. The grass they sell in the pet store is really a type of oats. Lately they have been selling the seeds in the pet store for home growers.
  5. To keep your indoor cat from eating your houseplants and from trying to dash outside to satisfy their natural kitty cat cravings for fresh vegetation, just plant a small cup of Natural Oat Cat Grass seeds once a week. When the Natural Oat Cat Grass gets about 3 or 4-inches high, put it near your cat’s dry food dish or water bowl. It works every time! or there is catnip(catmint) both is available from most pet stores
  6. Barley, wheat, and oat are all good.
  7. I buy mine at the pet store. This last one had Wheat, Barley, Rye and Oat grasses. It grows REALLY fast. I transplanted into a pretty container and have it out on my deck so when my cat's hanging out there with me he chews on that instead of my plants.
