I overseeded a blue grass lawn with a tall fescue mix for the past 2 years, not realizing what i was doing. not my lawn is hideous. how is a problem like this fixed? and how much might i expect to pay. it's a 1/4 acre lot, with a house on it.

- Call and get estimates from two or three lawn services or landscapers. It is best to have it re-done professionally. They have all the needed equipment and knowledge. Be sure to ask them the proper way to care for the new lawn. If at all possible, have them put in an automatic sprinkler system for you. It is worth every penny.
- If it were me I would wait till early fall and kill the whole yard with Round up. Be sure you give the Round up time to dissipate so it does not kill the new seed. Rent a roto tiller and till the yard and reseed. I used to put in yards and found that fall yards do best. Be sure to fertilize and water. If you do the work yourself you can figure your cost by going to a home supply store and price the seed and fertilizer. Roto tiller usually rent by the day.
- If the tall fescue is only in a small percent of the yard you could spot spray it with roundup. Anything that will kill the tall fescue will kill the blue grass too so I guess you have to just spray until the tall fescue is gone. Then put out the seed you want. If it was my lawn I would mow it and call it a job. LOL
