Grass seeding a lawn that has sparse grass...?

How much seed is needed? approx. 1 acre of lawn What type of seed? How to spread the seed and take for the growth?

1. You will need to prepare the yard to accept the seed. Just putting the seed on unprepared soil is a wast of money. The type of seed depends on your location and the amount of traffic on your lawn. To spread the seed you will need a broadcast seeder. If you are in the Midwest I would suggest thatching and aerating in the fall and then over seed. add a good fertilizer. You may want to check with your local Agriculture agent or lawn care company
