The Grass Doctor

I have plant some grass seeds when is it the best time to water it?

  1. Early morning and early evening, if the temps. get real hot you may mist during the day, the object is to try to keep the seed wet as long as possible prior to rooting
  2. Early morning or late evening. If not the sun will evaporate the water and the grass will not get the full effect. If you live in an area with a high dew point conserve water by allowing mother nature take care of it in the mornings.
  3. Early in the day, each and every day. If it is a small patch, it can help to put straw on top of it so the birds don't get it all. Try to keep kids and pets off it.
  4. you dont need to overwater seed, just keep it moist. if you do spread something over it, dont do too much...it will smother your seed/grass.
  5. evening is the best time, early morning also. if you are using a automatice sprinkler system set it to go off just befor dawn, if it is really hot ... never water in the middle of the day, it can harm your lawn (unless of coarse it is mostly weeds , lol)
