Growing grass help?

I have some weeds in my yard, and very little grass growing.I planted grass seed about 1 week ago and watered the grass/dirt every morning and night since. Is there anything else i can do to make it grow faster, i.e. feed, fertilizer etc..?Also will grass burn if u water it on a hot day while the sun is shinning on it?just a question..

  1. yes by watering grass in the hot sun will burn it up. and there are lots of websites that help you with the grass growing.the best time for sowing grass seed is in early spring and the fall of the year.hope this helps. oh and be sure to stand out in your yard nude if you're a woman and sing to the grass. if you're male watch out foor the birds they like little worms you know. lol
  2. The seed needs time to germinate usually around 10 to 12 days. Keep the soil moist but not soggy. If you do not see results soon after, try over seeding it again. After 3 week use a weed and feed to make sure that the new seed wont be strangled out.
  3. I don't know where you live, so my thoughts might not be appropriate for your climate....we recently re-seeded our pathetic lawn after moving into a home where the previous owner had neglected the yard. It's mostly shady and there are a couple pine trees on the property also. It took us over a week to see any new growth. Some of the seeds may still be beneath the surface of the dirt, so be patient. Don't over fertilize - in fact, go easy on it at first. Don't put down any weed & feed until after you've mowed twice - otherwise you can overwhelm and kill the new grass. Seems like a long time, I know. Keep up the watering - best in the morning and evening like you're doing now. The sun can burn it no matter if it's hot out or not - at least as far as I can tell with my yard. You may find that you have trouble spots that don't grow as well - you may need to add some more seed and just lightly rake it in...wait a couple weeks before you do that, so you don't hurt the new grass. I mentioned pine trees because I know that the needles make the soil more acidic, so growing grass beneath can be a challenge. Be patient - it seems to take forever, but it sounds like you're doing the right thing. Good luck.
