Will mowing the lawn kill my newly planted grass?

I put down some grass seed a couple weeks ago and some are starting to grow. If I mow my lawn will it kill them or keep them from growing?

1. If you have seeded an entire lawn wait until the grass is about 4 inches tall and then mow it. If you have just seeded parts of your lawn then don't mow those parts yet.
2. Wait till its two or thee inches high then give it a light cut (blade high) for a couple of times to let it get established
