How long do I need to wait after fertilizing to overseed my lawn?
I Just put down Scotts with Halt, on the bag it notes that this can prevent new seeds from germinating. They advise waiting four months. Is this really true, do I really need to wait until August before overseeding? All answers appreciated.

- Sorry, but the purpose of halts is to keep seeds from germinating!!! Yep.....you have effectively cancelled the need for seeding this year!
- If they had to put it on the label then there is a reason why. Sorry, you are out of the reseeding game until the pre-emergent is no longer active.
- "Cactus.." and "dogzilla" are right on. The "halt" in Scotts is a corn-based pre-emergent killer of seeds. You'll just be adding a thin layer of fiber to your lawn if you try and over-seed at this point.
