how do i get sheep to eat out of my hand? and what food do they like?

4 sheep 1 lamb in a big open country houses lawn fenced in they eat willow branches that i lay in a pile 4 them but they wont eat from my hand they just sniff it

1. They like grain. Also, it takes some time for them to get the idea that it is ok to eat from your hand. Put the grain in your hand and reach out with the palm flat fingers together. Let them sniff and be read patient...don't move. It may take many tries before they get into it, but grain is irresistible to them.
2. Sheep are lawn mowers - if they have good grass pasture, they're usually well fed and very content. If you are trying to make them friendlier, give them a treat. I've had a few very shy ewes, and they like sweet grain, but they LOVE graham crackers. Try offering them one. If they become too friendly, they also get kind of pushy about getting their treats. Ours come running at the sound of sweet grain in a coffee can or the sight of a cracker box!
