How is Urea (Fertiliser) made? I need to know how Urea (Fertiliser) is made but I don't understand the formal descriptions on the internet. I also need to know: The equation for Urea (Fertiliser). The advantages or disadvantages of it. Please state the links you use to answer this question, if any.
How much for a UREA refill on the 2011 Ford diesels? We are thinking of leasing a few of these trucks for the farm. Do we have to use UREA from FORD or can we use UREA from the local fertilizer suppliers? Or can I get a few of the hands drunk and just have them pysse in the tank?
Is it bad for horses to graze grass that has had chemical fertilizer applied? The fertilizer is standard lawn fertilizer/weed killer containing Ammoniacal Nitrogen, Urea Nitrogen, Phosphate, and Potash. It was applied well over a month ago, there has been abundant rain, and the grass has been mowed several times since application. The concern is whether any potentially-harmful chemical remains in the grass plant that could be bad for our horses if we let them graze on the lawn.
What is the maximum amount of urea that can be produced? Billions of pounds of urea, CO(NH2)2, are produced annually for use as a fertilizer. The balanced chemical equation for the formation of urea follows. 2NH3 + CO2 ==> CO(NH2)2 + H2O A given large scale reaction mixture has NH3 and CO2 in a 3:1 Molar Ratio. If this reaction mixture contains 27.6 kg of NH3, what is the maximum amount of urea that can be produced?
How to extract urea from urine and can it be done at home? How to extract urea from urine and can it be done at home? I am asking this because I have read a couple of article that state fresh urine can be use as fertilizer but if planting season have not started yet maybe I could start collecting urine and just extract the urea so I could use it later.
Urea (CH_4N_2O) is a fertilizer and can be synthesized by the following reaction.? 2 NH_3 + CO_2+ --> CH_4N_2O + H_2O The reaction requires temperatures of 300 degrees Celsius and pressures of 200 atm. A chemist combines ammonia with carbon dioxide at high temperature and pressure. When she cheks up on her products, she is dissapointed to find that only 146.5 Kg of urea have been obtained. She calculates that she has lost 58% of the expected product. How much urea was she expecting to make? The answer is 348.8 kg of urea. How do you do it!!?
Mixing limestone powder, triple super phosphate and urea? 1.For establishment of a new hay crop, the recommendations from soil testing call for application of 1000 kg of limestone powder, 200 kg of triple super phosphate fertilizer, and 200 kg of urea. The materials are to be incorporated by ranking into the upper 4 cm of soil. The agronomist suggests that all three materials be mixed together and then applied in a single operation to save time and money. Is this a good idea or bad idea? Give a detailed explanation based on chemistry.

what in bloom buster fertilizer should you avoid? i bought a bloom buster and read the ingredient on the back and it says its made with urea. urea is pee from animals and contains lots of acid so what i wonder is this actually bad because when a dog pees on grass it dies or is it just an overload of urea? ok nitrogen is for vegetation, phosphorous is for flowering and fruiting and potash is for healthy thick roots. just in case people say things and don't know what they are talking about.
Why do farmers chose to use explosives as fertilizer? Such as Urea Nitrate and Ammonium Nitrate. Would it be practical to ban these since terrorists and drug manufacturers use them for nefarious purposes? Is there an alternative for farmers and growers that is just as good?
why urea formed as prills? urea can be found in granulary or prills form, why did the industry formed it like that? Is there any corelation with the objective of urea (as fertilizer) or the plant itself ? Thank you.

Is there a way to make my own fertilizer? is there a site or a store i could go to and get the raw ingredients for a CHEMICAL fertilizer. i am doing this for orchids, so compost is out of the question and will not help me at all. i need to design three specific types of non-urea nitrogen fertilizers 30-10-10 30-30-10 10-30-30 i would buy them but anything i find similar to those have urea nitrogen which inhibits orchids from absorbing certain micronutrients. i'm basically looking for a build-a-bear workshop but for fertilizer instead of stuffed animals. also, if anyone knows where fertilizers like these with trace elements of iron, manganese, zinc and other such micro-nutrients pre-made with NO urea-based nitrogen in them, i would love to know where to find them. thanks ugh what is it with you people (for those of you that gave me legitimate answers i'm not speaking to you)? IT'S AN ORCHID!!! it's not in soil, it's in bark. the bark CANNOT hold compost or manure and i'm not putting chicken sh** or bat sh** or cow sh** on my f***in house plants. not only would the BARK (NOT SOIL) that my plant is in not be able to hold it and therefore not deliver any of the amazing benifits to my orchid, but my house would stink. I realize orchids grow in the rainforest with no chemicals. but that is in NATURE. birds poop on the trees and decomposing matter gets stuck in the crevices of bark on the trees or rocks where they live and the roots are able to pull those nutrients along with the trace minerals in rain water. I however have no desire to capture rain water as standing water in your yard promotes mosquito larvae. i'm not seeking knowledge, i know all this, i'm seeking information, which ARE two different things. don't answer if you're unknowledgeable. I am very knowledgeable about compost and its long-lasting slow-release benefits over chemical fertilizers. IN DIRT, where it can sit for a long time and the nutrients can be released slowly. but my orchid is not in dirt and i shant be covering it in droppings of any kind, therefore i need to substitute chemicals. I was merely asking if anyone knew of the fertilizers i needed, or if there was a place to design a water-soluble fertilizer using non-urea based nitrogen.
How do you separate sand, copper sulfate and urea? We're given a mixture of sand, copper sulfate and urea (a valuable fertilizer) in a film canister We have to separate them and find what weight of each substance was present in the mixture Here is some information about the 3 substances: Urea: Colour: white. Soluble in both water and meths Copper sulfate: Colour: blue. Only soluble in water Sand: Colour: yellow. Insoluble in both water and meths You may have 30mL of meths and 30mL of distilled water At the end of this (since we are going to do this in class) you should have the copper sulfate, sand and urea separated and dry so they can be individually weighed. There will be a prize for the person that is closest to the weighs that have been measured into the sample jar. If ANYONE knows how to separate this mixture please write down the method All answers appreciated Thank you
Fertilizer question... Ag Science. Modern Crop Production? A soil test for grain sorghum calls for 100lbs/acre Nitrogen, 80lbs/acre Phosphorus, and 140lbs/acre Potassium. You go to your local fertilizer dealer who has Urea (45%N), Triple Super Phoshate (0-46-0) ans Ptash (0-0-60). How many pounds of each fertilzer would you need to be mixed together to meet your soil's needs on a per acre basis.
General Chemistry I Question: Limiting Reagent Reactions- Industrial Synthesis of Urea? I have been having trouble with this question for some time and would love for someone to help out. Urea is a common fertilizer that can be synthesized bu the reaction of ammonia (NH3) with Carbon Dioxide as follows: 2NH3(aq) + CO2(aq) --> CH4N2O(aq) + H2O(l) In an industrial synthesis of urea, a chemist combines 136.4kg of ammonia (NH3) with 211.4kg of carbon dioxide (CO2) and, in reality, obtains 168.4kg of urea (CH4N2O). Atomic masses C:12 g/mol; H:1.00 g/mol N:14.01 g/mol 1 kg=1000g a.) determine the limiting reactant (I've gotten 4804.54 mol of CO2 for this one) b.)calculate the theoretical yield of urea (I've gotten 211399.76 g urea) c.) calculate the percent yield of urea (I got 125.53% which seems WAY too high, imo) Please and thank you! Make sure to change from kilograms to grams.
another planning and designing experiment? water drawn from a river has a bad taste. John claims that the taste is due to seepage and runs off from nearby farms after recent heavy rains. Plan and design an experiment to confirm this and also how you would remove the pollutant from the water.i said that urea (fertilizer) could have been in the water but how could you test for the presence of it?and i chose crystallisation to remove it from the water.can that be used?
What kind of gas / gases could this be? My father has a huge drum in it he puts water, miracle grow, lawn fertilizers , urea, thrive (common household fertilizer in australia) puts it all in a drum closes the lid and leaves it in the sun and heat. Apon opening it it releases almost odor less gas that feels like your lungs are failing and it seems kinda dangerous. Any ideas? If you could add details about the dangers etc it be good ty.

What's a good starter fertilizer for evergreens? I've got 50 thuja green giant seedlings that are 15~20 inches tall and in 3" pots. The soil here has alot of clay and rock in it. I planned on digging out a "milk jug" sized hole for each seedling and filling it with some good garden soil, then planting the evergreens in the good soil. What's a good fertilizer blend to add? I have a 5 gallon bucket of urea (46-0-0) in my garage, along with a bucket of DAP (18-48-0) and potash (0-0-60). I'd rather use what I have instead of purchasing something.
What is in the plant fertilizer? Okay, so i just bought 3 lb package of Scotts Select Plant Food: All Purpose. It's NPK value is 10-10-10. I need to seperate each kind of pellet that is in it. On the "ingredient" list of chemicals on the back, Nitrogen is Ammoniacal and Urea Nitrogen; Phosphorus is Available Phosphate; Potassium is Soluble Potash. There are 3 different colored pellets in the fertilizer. One kind is white (I believe this is the nitrogen), one kind looks like a rock and is dark/light greyish, and the last kind is rock-like and seems to be peach-pinkish. If anyone can enlighten me as to which pellet is which nutrient, I would be very thankful!

Do you think Harit Kranti benefited India or loss? I think Harit Kranti once increased crop production of India. But for increasing production Chemical fertilizers were used which later reduced the fertility of the lands and now Indian Farmers are living in very pity condition unlike as they were before freedom. Even now we are using such fertilizers, which also not even good for health, isn't it? Will it not be good to use some natural fertilizers like earlier. Is urea really good?
Is Veganism really avoiding Animal products for human use? I'm a 16 y.o. Vegan but I don't know If im going to use them or not. Algae help in controlling ammonia in a tank? i just came across this: "algae (GW form) will flourish off of the ammonia/ammonium and phosphate, remembering that algae can consume phosphate easier than plants because of their thin cell walls, the algae uses up the ammonia/ammonium and phosphate, but it doesn't go away...because algae can quickly switch which nutrient it scavenges...it moves to nitrates. " source: http://www.aquahobby.com/articles/e_freshwater_algae.php Is it possible to keep algae along with vegetation in a tank to check levels of ammonia and other "toxins" which are other wise harmful to the fish. i have a common pleco and im sure that along with proper nutrient and light control i can check the amount of algae i need in the tank. I have already collected a sample of green algae from my garden and added it to a seperate bowl of water along with phosphate fertilizers and a little urea to grow it quick(few hours to a day maybe). i intend on transfering the algae...little by little to the main tank(ensuring that no water containning the urea, fertilizer, etc comes along) to the main tank. The algae looks fine and green and mossy so far. however i want to be sure it is not toxic and wont kill my fish. cna anyone please advice with regard to the above.
Air conditioning system : why the equalizing line is icing? Its a Carrier water cooled condenser type, chilled water acu system for a Dehumidifier system. Used at the urea fertilizer bulk store. System not running.Suspected TRV defective. Ordered to change new filter drier (block filter) and change new TRV (TRAE30HW90 6A ), purge the affected area. charged in gas-R22 and run system. Continue to charge in gas to LP 60 psi and HP 225 psi, load was 38.5 amps. Require 41 amps @ LP 70 psi, HP 250 psi approx. nominal ratio. At 38.5 Amps the equalizing line started to frost (icing). This shows that there is liquid flow to the return line. At this point the amps drop to 34 amps and LP 38 psi in a period of 20 min.The other system combined to the same chiller is running good with HP 240 psi, LP 68 psi @ 41 amps. I also tried charging up more gas but the gas did not want to go in. Continued to run system as it is and there was no change. Whats the remedy to this condition? Tks, Allan
cold starting compost pile tips? It is winter in the NE with temps around freezing. A month ago I chopped up my first garden and the collection cooked for a bit then stopped. Since then, I have chopped up all the leaves "leaving" a damp pile around 4' diameter. The leaves weren't cooking so I added in some Urea fertilizer ( 45-0-0 about 3lbs) for nitrogen and wet the mix while stirring. Is it too cold to start cooking? My efforts aren't producing much heat but the leaves are very slowly turning black. Did I add enough nitrogen? The previous little cooker did not stink and I didn't add the entire 5 Lb bag as I wanted to avoid a problem. Would it make a difference if I could jump start it with some heat? I am thinking of reflected sunlight, or greenhouse effect... I would not simply want to add heat for the entire process though. It would eventually have to be self sustaining. I am also thinking that a winter compost pile may require an insulated container, but this would only work if I could get it started in the first place.

Making folar fertilizer? I have about 600 pumpkin plants that need fertilized. They take up an area about 15 yds by 200 yds. The plants are anywhere from 2' to 8' across. I'd like to spray them with a folar fertilizer, but I don't want to buy a whole bunch of little packages to mix with the water. I have an atv and a 12-volt 15 gallon sprayer. I have bulk urea, DAP, and potash. That's 48-0-0, 18-46-0, and 0-0-60. About how much of each of the 3 fertilizers should I mix per gallon of water to make a folar fertilizer? I don't want to burn them, but I want enough fertilizer to be effective.
