Mowing lawns summer job? So, I'm going to mow lawns this summer to make some money, but I'm a little unsure of what needs to be done. I'm going to hand out flyers advertising a lawn mowing business. But, would it be outlandish to only mow lawns, not do a total landscaping (edging, weeding, etc.)? To be honest, I could only really mow lawns. So, is this acceptable or not?

This is for me, I'm almost 15, and I want to earn some money because I'm not old enough to work. It's going to be a flyer to put in people's doors or mailboxes. I live in a residential area with metal street posts to I can't exactly staple the fliers poles. I'm only putting them on my street because I don't have a car to get anywhere else. Oh, and thank's for the compliment on my design. All I did was use MS Publisher. Although I have been told I have skills in with technology, as I designed my middle school's first newspaper last year.

HOW DO YOU GET CUSTOMERS FOR LAWN MOWING? Ok I am 17 and I am trying to mow Lawns to help raise money for college(there are no Jobs for teens in my area even McDonald's rejected me). Anyway I have tired over the past month making Flyer's and placing them on peoples doors, I went door to door, and no one wants to have me mow there Lawn. I live in a 400K Home neighborhood and no one wants to pay $20-$30 to have there lawns mowed! I also tired offering Free Cuts first and no one took up that offer. If you needed a lawn mowed and saw a flyer on a trail would you be interested? Recently I made a flyer and am about to distribute it around local park/trail area telephone pole/etc It has an image of a lawn with the title "Lawn Mowing in (town)!" Text is: "- Lawn Mowing - Edges - Yard cleanup" And at the bottom "Call for free estimate (phone number)" And below that I have many little paper slips with phone number people can rip out and take one so they don't have to write down the phone number/remember it in their head. I think this ad is sufficient though my dad says I should add a picture of me and the friend who are doing the lawn mowing to it. What do you think of an ad like this for a local lawn mowing/edges/yard cleanup service?

Does my son need a permit to start his own neighborhood business? My son is starting a business to help around the house when our neighbors are out of town. My boyfriend wants to start mowing lawns for a little extra cash? My boyfriend will graduate from airplane mechanic school in December. He currently works at an airport earning a good paycheck, but he wants to earn some extra cash in his spare time by starting a small little lawn care service. He got his LLC, a traylor, a commercial mower, and other equiptment that may be needed to do yard cleanups and such. He asked me to make up some flyers for him. One thing that I was going to add on the flyer was "Present this ad for 10% off your first service" I think that he has more of a chance of getting called if people know they're getting a deal. My step-father has owned a lawn care business for 15+ years. He makes about 500,000 dollars yearly during just the spring,. summer and fall season (more in the winter when he plows). The problem is that my step father and I do NOT get along (at all!) so I cant really ask him for advice. (I've asked my mom though, she runs his business).. I'm just looking for more suggestions. I should add that both my boyfriend and I are 20 years old

How do I go about mowing lawns in my neighborhood this summer? Hi, I'm 17 years old and this summer I want to make good money for a trip to Spain with my school next Spring Break (April 2012) which is I think 2,000 dollars (My family is not the richest...) I already tutor two kids for 20 bucks an hour for one hour so I get 40 bucks every weekend but that's for spending and going out and obviously it doesn't apply during the summer. My dad said I could mow lawns for a good amount of money, I already did once (for a neighbore, I mow our lawn all the time) and charged 20 bucks and he happily paid me (the lawns in this neighborhood are.... not extremely large, they are decent sized.) Now my original thought was to just take my mower and just knock house to house and ask if they want their lawn cut and negotiate on the money- smaller lawn smaller pay. I would go to the houses that look like they need mowing and knock on the door, tell people I'm trying to raise money for a school trip, that I have my own mower, and charge like 15 or 20 for the whole lawn and do about 4-5 a day (should only take 4-5 hours, the lawns are decent sized.) My dad says I should make flyers, knock on everyones door JUST to hand them out and wait for people to call, that I have to convince them why my lawn mowing is better than others, establish a reputation and business. While this all sounds logical to the entrepeneur (which he is), I think this is all unnecessary, I'm not looking for permanent job, I just want to cut lawns every week to make some money. So what's the approach? Any tips? Is this a good idea?
How can a 14 year old earn $300 by August? I'm a 14 year old girl and I need $300 before August 13. I tried selling cupcakes, but it didn't work. I'm running out of ideas and my deadline is almost hear! Please help! I don't want smart-ass answers or links to spam. I want ideas FOR KIDS!
Where can I get Custom Business cards? I'm starting a little lawn mowing thing to make some extra money during the school year. I've read that business cards are better than flyers. Anyone know where I can get some in bulk for cheap?
Interested in starting a small summer mowing business..few questions? Hello everybody, first of all thanks for taking the time and reading this. Here's the deal. Me and two other friends (all 18 years of age) are interested in starting a small local lawn mowing business. We live in a country-ish area where most of the yards are very big. I've noticed driving by different houses that there are houses that either need to be cut or are being cut by expensive landscaping companies. We thought it would be a good idea to put flyers around close neighborhoods and the local supermarket offering our service of cutting, trimming, and cleaning. Now, what are some good ideas to include on the flyer, other than our name, what we do, and contact information? What would be a reasonable charge rate to offer to customers? We want to be reasonable where people will want us cutting their yards but we would also like to make some money after taking care of gas expenses. Some ideas i had were to charge $1/minute, $30/acre, or even $50 for the first hour then $1/minute after that. Equipment wise, we have a Cub Cadet zero turn mower, a John Deere 325 riding mower, a push mower, weed wacker/trimmer, and other basic tools (rake, shovel, etc.) I think we have the necessary equipment to complete our small jobs. However, we do not have a trailer to carry the mowers. Would it be better to invest in a used trailer or to purchase a ramp for a Silverado truck and have the mower in there? Also, if you have done something like this before, how was the experience? I am interested in the input. Thank you again for taking the time, I am curious to see all the answers!

Can anybody think up a catchy slogan? I'm trying to think of a slogan to put on my flyers for a lawn mowing business I'm making with a friend called LAWN & ORDER: Lawn Services. If anyone could think of one, that'd be awesome! Also, what do you think I should put on the flyers besides the name of the business and how to contact me/my friend. And should I put our phone numbers on it, or our e-mail addresses?
how do i make start making money with 10 dollars as a kid? without wasting time.like 2 bucks every week,etc... i don't wanna waste time like buy a lucky charms box for like 3 bucks at wal-mart and sell on ebay for like 7 dollars....then i gotta pay money to go to the post office and ship it and all that stuff....then the profits: two bucks..... i want a job for at least 300 bucks a month as a kid.... and i wanna start of with my very first 10 dollars. some things i can't do would be: delivering newspaper, babysitting, mow lawns, print flyers, lemonade stand for food and so on, and other common kid jobs like errands on the house and helping older people and so on... someone please give me a answer....

Advertise a service to a specific community for free or cheap? I want to find about 10 to 20 lawns I can mow on a weekly basis within my community. What would be the most cost effective way of advertising to my area? (aside from using a flyer on the library's bullition board and the local newpaper's website...which I intend to use)
MY parents wont let me get a job. How do I make money??/HOw can I get them to let me have a job? IM 14 and my parents wont let me get a job. I really want one beacause I want to buy a new computer and they cant use their credit card cause their credit score sucks. I tried reasoning with them but thy are so closed-minded to letting me have one. Theyu say stuff like: "Your only 14 and you don't need to be working" when I make a valid point, they just say stuff like "Well it is a NO and thats final" I think that wanting a Job proves just how responsible I am, yet they act like If I actually started making money, It would be the end of the world. I tried taking online surveys but that doesnt earn much. I even started a pet-sitting buisiness and handed out like 100 flyers but no customers. I want to make the money, but I really want something more than lemonade stands and mowing lawns. I'm tired of people telling me about all these cliche ways to make cash in my situation. I need persausion tips. P.S. PLEASE!!!

I want to mow lawns for the people in my neighborhood...how do I get started.? I'm going on vacation soon and I want to mow lawns for the people in my neighborhood. Most of the people in my neighbor hood are older so they need their lawn mowed but many of them have professionals do it. Anyway do I put flyers on their doors or do I knock or what? What do I say when they answer and so on? And if they agree to me mowing how do I set everything up? Do I pick a date and time then and there or how does that work? Thanks Actually I'm a girl
How to go about creating a small lawn service? I live in New Jersey and me and my freind (16) are planning on making a local lawn buisness. I own a rotatiler an expensive wide zero-turn lawn mower and a weed-wacker. How should i go about starting this should I make flyers and hang them around or put an ad in the newspaper. We wouldnt be proffesional but we would do a good job. Should i charge in packages and what should i include in them. Also what are some good estimates for rotatiling, mowing, weedwaking, based on size???? Any tips to make this a sucess would be appreciated!!!
Job for a 12 year old going on 13? I'm 12 years old and I'll be 13 in 6 months. I REALLY need a job. My resume is pretty good. I HATED papers/catolouges/flyers. My parents don't know anyone who I could babysit for and we don't want to put up flyers and third I don't want a simple job like mowing lawns or shoveling or anything. My Friend got a job at a resturaunt here. I applied and didn't get the job but my resume was better. I want to apply for a job here as maybe a dishwasher or something but don't know what my resume should have or where I should apply. If you live or have been to Port Elgin please tell me where I should apply.

more ways to advertise for a 13 year old's lawnmowing services late in the season? i would like to have more ways to advertise for my lawn mowing service. i have already sent out 7 flyers to those in my neighborhood who are elderly, or without a landscaping company that already works for them and the houses are within walking distance, and i havent gotten any replies yet. i sent the flyers out sunday. sadly, my neighborhood is very hilly, and the only transportation i have is my feet and the walk behind mower. so unless my 13 year old mower has found a secret pocket of power to get up the hills, i cant go too far. currently, i do mowing, edging, weed whacking, snow shoveling, raking, and blowing. i might resort to door to door, but i dont want to bug the people that i have already asked with the flyer. Please Help, Thanks. Chad
Snappy Headlines? Please? Does anyone have any ideas for snappy headlines for a flyer? My brother and I are doing a Lawn-Mowing business this summer, and do you have any ideas of headlines that will catch an eye (in an appropriate manner)? Any original ideas? Oh, and do you know any online places I could easily make a flyer?
im 13 and i need money? i need $649.50 to buy a laptop. how can i make money easily at this age? i tried to put up flyers for babysitting with my friend and they're still up and nobody has called me yet, its been weeks. and im sure the same thing would happen if i tried lawn mowing, or house cleaning. help??
I'm beginning to mow lawns for money but I really don't know how to charge them... By the hour? By the yard? I made a few flyers to put up in the supermarket and etc. They've got the tear off thingies but I have yet to decide how to charge them. Any ideas? Also, there is only one professional lawn mowing business in the area and the don't do houses. They do schools, churches, etc. Another thing is that I'm only 15 so I am limited to the area and would like to make some decent money too... I'm not trying to be greedy but I like to have at least 50 bucks just in case my mother or father need to borrow some... So... Yeah.

Advertising? I am thinking about starting a lawn mowing business in my neighborhood, and i was wondering if passing out flyers in mailboxes is illegal or not?
a questiion for all of you Christian bashers? please tell me what you find offensive about my church. Right now we are working on two projects. We are stripping the lead based paint off of two houses in our neighborhood and repainting them. We are also mowing lawns, doing yardwork for elderly people in our area. We bring in food for local soup kitchens. We have sent flyers around the neighborhood twice a year advertiseing a clothing giveaway. we have a fall festival every year. by the way there is no charge for any of this. when my husband lost his job (he is an atheist) people in my church offered us money. one girl offered to type up a resume for him. when my son had surgery they brought us meals. i could go on and on. but i would like to know what about this offends you. if you thought i was trying to be holier than thou in this post that was not my intention. I am sorry if i offended anyone. I just wanted you to know that not all Christians are hate mongers. I do not hate gays.I would never be as rude or nasty as some of you have been to me in this post.
i need money..alot of money..and im 13 help!? Yea im 13 and i need alot of money but the thing is..I already did the lawn mowing and i quit so none of my naighbors trust me..everyone in my community is younger then me so i cant babysit..it dosnt snow here so i cant shovel snow..this is a big city so there isnt any paper rounds unless you have a car..and i already put up flyers for walking dogs but nobody answered them(i put up alot and for a long time) help
What sort of jobs can a 14-15 get in So, CA? Ok list of jobs my mom said no to: Baby sitting Lawn mowing Errands (no old people around here) Paper Route (risk of rape, etc) House cleaning List of jobs she said yes too but no one will hire: Dog walking Car washing We don't know any mom and pop places, I've asked most places (McDonalds, sign waving, etc) won't take me till I'm 15 1/2 -16, plus I need a work permit which I don't have.... we don't have the money to make stuff then sell it too people.... my mom said I could do house chores but most of our money goes to pay off debt thanks to my dad who wastes all our money and refuses to pay bilsl (seriously, he yells at my mom for paying the bills!) Got any suggestions? I'm 14, gonna be 15 in August.... I want to tutor but I don't know of anyone who needs a tutor... I can't put up flyers because people usually rip them off of mailboxes, etc (my dad does for sure) I just said I'm not allowed to mow lawns... my mom doesn't want me to injure myself (bad backs in the family, I'm really clutzy as well) plus the neighbor kid already does that. What I mean by rape is, If i'm on a bike (the routes out here said no cars) I could get hit by a car, or someone could kid nap me. We've checked around and there are almost a thousand or so sex offenders within 2 miles of where I live, because my city is realllllllly packed with people. The problem with baby sitting is if the child gets hurt the family can sue us (seriously, for example a few weeks ago we saw this guy was laying out in the middle of the road a few days ago from a really small accident, screaming like he was dying when the car barely got bumped, and hes trying to sue the person who hit him..... also , our school requires a work permit and the businesses ask for birth certificates.... I asked the work permit department at my school I want them oney for myself I;m not doing it for bills, its just my dad goes out and spends all our money, and most money is devoted to our bills (my dad took out a second morgage on our house and spent ike 40k on motorcycles he ended up selling, a 1k camera, etc) I live in Fontana, its next to Rialto and Fontana, one of the roughest places in San Bernardino county..... I live in a nice area but its still not always safe because we have new houses and new neighbors around us and a lot of them are realllly rough, for example a theft ring.
What jobs can a 12 year old do to earn money? My sister, who is 12, wants to earn money to go on a shopping spree with her friends at the mall. I, am challenged by my parents and my sister to help her find jobs she can do, around the neghborhood. Some I've thought of so far, (and some of these jobs are taken by other kids in the neighborhood): Pet Sitting-taken lawn mowing-taken raking leaves babysitting (with me supervising her, because I'm old enough to babysit, and she's not.) Got any more ideas? But the main thing is how she's going to get the word around that she's doing whatever job she chooses. Flyers, letters, ads, who knows?
13--need money---parents making me work--HELP!!? ME AND MYFRIENDS ARE STARTING A BUSSINESS TELL ME IF THIS A GOOD IDEa????????????????????????????????????????? ok we are going to start a lawn mowing/dog care/ car washing business and we have made a meeting, flyer's and have assigned almost everybody we need to the employee branch. i am the supervisor for the car washing branch since i came up with it, and and i'm going to do a little financial work. my other fried, who is 16 is the ceo and is going to control everything. im really not going to break everything down but their are 7 of us, and we plan taking care of 6 houses a day on the week end and 1 on the weekdays because some of us me and one of my friends have football practice. we live in a a really suburban area the average size of a yard down here is about 7000 sq. ft, our charge for a whole house will range from $75 -$115. that depends on what options they pick for car washing and the size of the lawn. average charge will be about $95... so 95 *17 houses / by 7 head employees = about 230 a week (our over head is 123 so...) 230 - (123/7) = 213 a week. does that sound reasonable "me and one of my friends" lol bad grammer one of my friends and i have football practice ont weekdays... there thats sounds a lot better
HOW DO I START A BUISINESS :( :(:( HELP PLZ? im 17 and so are my to mates we want to start a little lawn mowing business now ive made up some flyers whch i would lke to hand out and then when people ring start going i feel like i could get into trouble cause its like unregistered and no insurance please help me :( wat do i do?
I am trying to get a Yorkie but only have 300 dollars. How can I make good money fast without going online? I really want a Yorkie and all the ones I want are REALLY expensive. So far I have 300 dollars but I have been saving up for like my whole life. What are some ways to make money? P.S. I have already done petsitting and babysitting flyers and I can't mow lawns. PLEASE HELP! Thanks for anything you can tell me! ANYTHING! I'm desperate as you can tell! The reason I am wanting a Yorkie is because we are putting my dog to sleep and it is really sad so I need another dog. Also I am getting surgery and want it to come and sit in my bed with me all day so I won't be so bored, and that is why I need it fast. If you look at my title I was asking how to make money to buy the Yorkie, not where to get it.

Any Jobs Plz? anyone know any good jobs for a 14 or 15 year old? (and yes, i know the working age is legally 16). I hate working outside so i woulnd't want to rake leaves, mow lawns, shovel snow etc... I've tryed babysitting and I do like it, but no one calls everyone already seems to have a sitter but I dropped off more flyers anyways (but I doubt any1 will call). My parents dont pay me for house work (usually). my dad has work i could do at his business but its outside work... I'm 14 but I could wait until 15 for a job...16 is too long! I dont currently have much money but I want to save up to buy a laptop (which are usually 1,500 and up + tax and there's no way my parents are buying me one for my birthday) Can someone help me figure out what to do (and be serious)?
How can a teenager make money? I am 15 years old, which is legal to work at in my state, but no where in my town hires at 15. I have applied at every single place that even hires teenagers (there arn't too many of those.) I have tried baby-sitting, but it's very difficult to find a job. I have posted on craigslist.com, other online classifieds, posted flyers around the neighborhood and my dad's work, talked to people, etc. There are just simply too many people baby-sitting in my town to find anything. Please give me original/creative answers. I have obviously heard the usual: dog walking, paper girl, house cleaning, mow lawns, lemonade stand, etc.
