How do I get Zoysia grass established in my lawn? Does anyone know what my soil must have (i.e. amount of lime, nitrogen, etc.) for Zoysia grass to flourish? Is Zoysia best tropical grass or is there a better more easier to maintain running type grass for my rocky dry soil?
Lime, starter fertilizer, and grass seed... Where do I start? My lawn needs to be brought back to life. I tried to reseed last year, and the year before, but the grass just does not seem to want to flourish. I have raked it out to free it of debris. I picked up several bags of lime pellets, starter fertilizer, and grass seed (my neighbor, who has a gorgeous lawn, said lime pellets worked well for him). Where do I start? I know it takes time and dedication to have a beautiful lawn, so how should I use what I bought? Do I need to buy anything else? Feel free to e-mail me if you do not have enough space to answer. Thanks!
Will lime kill Parvo in the yard and what will it do to the grass will it help with fleas and ticks? My puppy is currently in the vets being treated for Parvo the house has been bleached but i have a three acre lawn will lime shorten the parvo lifespan, will help with fleas and ticks?
Can I add lime to my lawn now? I've got a mostly clay soil with a ph of 5.5. The lawn is beautiful with fescue grass. I'd like to add lime for continued and long last health for the grass (expensive sod a little over 1 year old). I've read to do this in the spring and fall. What's wrong with doing it today (in July)?
Grass seed, lime, fertilizer question? Ok - First off, I live in Georgia - I have a 2 acre yard, full sun for all of it. It's not a new years. It's been a "lawn" since 1979. There is plenty of grass, but I want my yard to look really good this year. I just got in from spreading about 5 bags of 10-10-10 fertilizer on it - I had my spreader about 1/2 way open - I was able to get about 3/4 of the yard. I'm going to go buy another 2-3 bags to finish. I also spread a handful of fertilizer around the base of the new trees that I planted last year. My question is, have I done enough? Do I need to spread just as much LIME as well? What exactly does LIME do? Is it too late to spread gass seed?

What else could I put to make sure this site is found. I have put keywords on all the pictures. Anything I should add to help it be found? Also... I put this code directly after <title>... Is that correct? Am I missing anything?
Is it legal to dispose of a dead rabbit in the backyard onto a trash bin? I found a dead rabbit in my backyard yesterday. It was rotting already with maggots eating it but still has a full body. There's no place to dig in my residential yard since we have a maintained grass lawn. I scooped the dead rabbit placed doubled bagged it. Poured boiling water/bleach and detergent mix on where the rabbit was once. I might do lime if it still smells. I covered the black trash bags with arm and hammer as well and threw the bag in the trash to be picked up. Placed our trash bin far away from the house on the curb side. Now as I don't want to have to call a animal removal service and pay for it. Although I'm not sure of the legality of throwing dead animal in the trash bin. My trash might get refused.
Our lawn in Georgia is terrible. What is the right grass for deep shade? We have a lot of tall trees in the front and only some sunlight in the morning. Basically it is all dirt at this point. We plan on putting in topsoil with lime, but not sure what is the right kind of grass. Our back gets sun during the peak of the day.
Is the warning against nightime watering of lawns an urban myth? I live in a region of significant rainfall--about 60 to 70 inches a year. Much of that rain falls in the nighttime. My lawn seems to tolerate--even thrive--on this nocturnal precipitation. Is there any difference between rain at night and watering at night? I see no signs of disease in the grass. It is hard for me to accomplish much watering in the early morning, so I begin about 4 to 5 PM. Because my yard is so large and the water pressure so low, it usually takes two full days to accomplish the task, and that includes watering until well into the darkness (8 or 9 PM). After almost a week without rain, it was important for me to water today, as lime was applied yesterday. Again, I am watering well into the late evening, early night. Please answer the general question, and also give me tips that I may have overlooked. I am also going by the rule that lawns thrive more on soakings every three to seven days than they do from light watering daily. Thank you for your time.
What type of grass grows the best on Long Island? I was wondering what type of grass grows the best on long island in a partially shady mostly sunny area and any other tips for lawn care(ie. when to use lime, use of peatmoss ect.) that people might have or possibly some good regional websites on the topic. The front yard will be mostly sunny not high traffic and the back yard is also a mix but is high traffic. Any help will be appreciated
How should I work on my lawn? I have a lawn that partially needs some topsoil and grass seed. I want to spread pelletized lime to kill moss. I have grub-ex because I have a mole problem. I have Scott's Turfbuilder plus2 with weed control. I also have grass seed for when I put down soil. How and when should I spread this stuff out?
How do I make my lawn grow more vigorously? I have areated and put lime and fertilizer but the grass blades are fine and short. I live in NC and this puny grass doesnt seem to be strong enough when hot weather hits, about one forth always dies. Thank you for your advice.
Where and how should I begin with my back yard? (Removing weeds/sand, planting grass)? I have a 3200 sq. foot back yard (maybe a little more). I have some grass in the back yard mixed with weeds and sand and stumps left over from when I had trees removed. I want to fix it so that its a nice yard with a nice looking lawn. The guy that cuts the back says all I need is about 50 lbs of grass seed and some lime and fertilizer who can do the work for me. I want it done right and I am not knowledgeable in this area at all. He works for a landscaper full time. Im afraid to call one of the commercial well-known companies for a price cause i dont want them hounding me like an old salesman working at a car lot. Anyone have any suggestions?
why wont my lawn come back year after year? I have tried differant grasses, fertilizer, grub ex ,lime and we even had true green spray and that killed the grass that i did have. But for some reason my lawn does not come back the next year
Is a chamomile lawn a good idea? Chamomile is a herb, and a possible grass substitute. I've been told I have pH-neutral soil. I've recently cleared 20 square metres of ground and dug and re-dug the soil, in preparation for a lawn. With a lack of weeds growing, I figured the soil was acidic and added some lime. One possibility for me is a chamomile lawn. That was without knowledge of what chamomile needs - an acidic lawn! Should I bother trying to make the lawn more acidic? Is it worth it for this chamomile lawn?
Grass In South Texas? Hi There! I was wondering what this type of grass is called. I live in South Texas. San Antonio to be exact. And there's a place we go to eat that has this beautiful thin grass always growing. I want it for my own lawn. It looks a very light green color. Almost lime. Very thin. Looks very nice when cut. Looks super soft! And I'm not really sure what else I can say about it.... Can some one give me the name please?
what are the steps i need to take to rebuild my lawn? yard is a blank slate, some grass mostly weeds but nothing too bad. i'm thinking of busting up the yard with a sod buster, tilling it, liing down fertilizier, and lime. tilling it again, making sure the yard is level, seeding, and topping off with hay. and living in north jersey what would you recommend for grass? it does get shade from neighbors trees. but i would say its its about 60% shade to 40% sun during the curse of the day. thanks for any help you can give
Lawn Question, overseeding and other things.? Hi, I just got a soil test on my lawn from the local agricultural lab. The recommend some more lime, as well as fertilizer levels of 20-3-12 in April and June, and 10-6-4 in late august, which is different from the fertilizer I was using. The question is, if I was planning on overseeding (I waited until these results got back so I have not done it yet, and we live in Boston area), what should I do from a timing perspective? Should I apply some lime, and use the 10-6-4 at the same time as a top dressing and starter fertilizer and grass seed. Should I do the lime and 10-6-4 before the seeds?, if so how long do I have to wait? The first frost will be here in about 3 weeks. Or should I get the seed down and germinating (using top dressing and starter fertilzer right away before the frost comes, and then put some lime and 10-6-4 right before the snow comes? Thanks for any help!
response to Alex about lime for my yard? The reason I use Scott's products is a recommendation from my dad who lives in eastern Va. He has the best looking yard I have ever seen ( titanium fescue grass, bluish green, cut at 4 inches tall) I have never seen a yard that perfect. He stopped using a professional lawn service and switched to using only Scotts products himself, and said he would never go back. With that said, I realize I have centipede not tall fescue, and live about 300 miles south of him. If you believe lime would help, can I apply it now ( temperatures already in the 90's) if so what kind would you recommend? Also, what would you recommend instead of Scotts for my lawn?
Sawdust on lawn - make sense? A friend of mine sprinkles sawdust on his lawn. I asked him why he does it. He asked me if I ever heard of it being good for a lawn to leave the grass clippings on the ground after mowing rather than bagging them, so they can decay and provide nutrients. I told him I had heard of that but not sawdust. He told me its the same idea. Does this guy know what he's talking about? His lawn does look very good, and I see him applying lime, fertilizer and KillEx (2,4D) at various times through the year so he seems to know what he's doing. What do you think?
What is the best way to go about planting/reseeding a law in VA? I live in Virginia. I am trying to fix up my grandfathers lawn. I am trying to do it at a minimal cost and with limited time because its already the end of September. I haven't had the soil's ph tested but it hasn't been limed in many many years. It is also overtaken by crab grass but there is some grass patches. What is the best way to go about getting it full of healthy grass without spending a fortune. I have made arrangements to have someone to core aerate it and put down starter fertilizer and seed. I bought the pelleted lime. Should I rake the yard first to break up some of the crab grass so the lime, fertilizer and seed can make it to the soil or should i go ahead and lime it first then rake and sow the seeds. How much lime, using a drop seeder, should i put on the lawn for an untested soil ph. Is this time of year, end of september beginning of october, ok to plant tall fescue blend? any help or tips is greatly appreciated. lawn not law

I am new to central Missouri and do not know how to take care of the lawn? In Florida we had St Augustine and in Missouri this is a whole new ordeal. Due to the hot summer the grass is sick looking. I used weed n feed in the spring. Some people said put lime on it, others said seed it now and put hay on it. What kind of seed? Lime? Just want a nice green lawn. I dont know what type of grass to use. When to seed. What kind of fertilizer, and when to use it. Can someone please help. The local Lowes and Home Depot have a different story each time so I am looking for someone who knows how to grow grass in central Missouri . Thanks
New lawn coming in slow, tips/help? Had landscaping company install irrigation, loam and hydro-seed last fall (09/10) and watched the lime green fuzz (seedlings) come up til mid/late October. The grass only came up about 1-2 inches. Then it seems the grass went dormant and stopped growing. I didn't put winter fertilizer down figuring I'd wait til spring to see what growth there might be. I didn't see growth like the established lawns in the area so I bought Scott's Starter Fertilizer 20-27-5 and spread it on a slightly lower setting than recommended (late 4/10). I had expected the shorter grass to start to spread out and fill in the thinner looking areas but it hasn't really so I just reseeded 1.5 weeks ago today, with some Evergreen Seed from Blue Seal (A versatile and dependable sun and shade mix. Produces a lush dark-green lawn that thickens rapidly after germination.) I don't see anything happening yet. How much longer should I give the seed before I fertilize again? And what kind of fertilizer should I use...another dose of starter fertilizer or turf-builder type? I finally mowed last weekend to even out the grass length, but the seed had been down for over a week by then. Thanks in advance! Southern New Hampshire I have irrigation and water 2- 3 times daily for about 5-7 minutes each time so everything stays moist.
How to remove moss from my lawn? The side of my house has significant shade and is mostly moss at this point, so I'm looking to remove the moss and plant grass in its place. I have no experience with lawn care and have done a little research on what to do, I'm primarily looking for any extra tips or experiences people may have had. Here's my plan of action- Use a moss control product to kill existing moss. Rake out dead moss. Overseed bare areas with a mixture turf type ryegrass. Topdress seeds with about l/4 inch of loose weed-free soil. Keep moist until seedlings are established. Maintain higher soil pH with agricultural or dolomitic lime. Thanks for any advice, especially with any extra steps to maintain the shaded area.
Need to reseed my entire lawn and kill crabgrass... lots of questions? Hi, My entire lawn has been overrun by crabgrass. I've gotten two quotes on redoing it for $1000 and $2000 respectively. I think I can do it myself, though. My gameplan is to kill everything using roundup. Then wait 2 weeks, mow very very low, rake and throw down lime, starter fertilizer and a hybrid seed. Water twice a day for 15 minutes at a time for 7-10 days, and then twice a week for 30 minutes at a time until the first frost. I live in Westchester NY, about 20 minutes from NYC (so you get a sense of my climate). Figure I will kill the lawn this weekend (the 20th) and reseed Oct 4th. By mid Oct I should have grass and hopefully it will continue to strengthen into mid-Nov. My questions are: I see lots of people using peet moss. Do I need to use it for something? What about top soil? When would I use that? Same thing with hay. Can I just leave the dead crabgrass that doesn't get raked up or mowed? Or do I need to dig it completely out? If I do what I initially wrote, do I need to even worry about peet moss, topsoil or hay?
Lawn and summer heat question? OK, so I have been struggling with this lawn since March (we moved in over the fall). Long story short, I just put lime down and used a company to spray the crabgrass (it was heavy in the back). I water for about two hours at least 3x a week. Now, I am noticing the grass is starting to turn brown (heat stress maybe?). It's been so hot here in NJ. I mow it high, about 3" once a week. I have not fertilized since May. Is there anything I could do to stop this "browning" process? It's not grubs or anything like that, I think it's going dormant to protect itself from the heat. Any fertilizers or anything I could do?
How do i break up, spread, and level clay fill dirt (for new lawn) by hand? I got 30 yards of free fill dirt that turned out to have a alot of clay in it. My brother used a tractor and surprised me by dumping the dirt in piles close to where i needed it, but its all unlevel, thick, matted down. There are mogul piles everywhere. I dont have money for professionals, or to rent another tractor. I need to level the clumpy piles and properly slope it away from the house for proper drainage to the street. Its a mess. It poured rain on it after he spread the piles. I dont know what to do. My intention was to raise the ground 5-6 inches for about an 2-3 thousand square foot area, and the slope it, then put this falls leaves on it, (about 2 feet deep, then after winter mats the leaves down, (when i have more money) to put about 3-4 inches of premium peat mix top soil, and then plant grass. Should i spread peat moss all over it, and add lots of lime? But how do i spread it? When i use a garden rake i can barley budge it. It wasnt liek that before it was dumped in piles and rained... PLEASE OFFER ANY ADVICE.
Would it be a waste of money/time to reseed my lawn now? My backyard is full of weeds. I spoke with a few people about having some work done. So far the most "reasonable" price is $500 to spray Roundup, rake, seed, fertilize, lime, and put done some ground cover that's better than straw (I forgot what he called it) and he would come back in the fall and reseed for no charge. I know it'll be hot soon. Will the grass even grow? I'm also concerned that he's spraying Roundup and a week later planting grass seeds. Is this man playing me for a fool? Soil Test Results? I live in the north east section of Mississippi. I had my soil tested, with the following results (I have and plan on using Centipede Grass) Soil pH is 5.4 Phosphorus level is 78lbs/acre (high) Potassium level is 173 lbs/acre (medium) Magnesium level is 75 lbs/acre (high) Zinc level is 3.5 lbs/acre (high) Calcium level is 429 lbs/acre Further states that pH of soil is acid, and no lime is recommended. Can anyone break this down into simple language for me as to what this test is telling me and what I should do to have a healthy lawn? Thanks
How do I turn a yard of rocky soil and weeds to green? I just recently purchased a house and new the yard was in bad shape. I don't mind putting time and money into the yard, but I don't necessarily want to hire a lawn service since I'm trying to save all that I can at the moment. The situation is, my yard is basically weeds at this point, with patches of bare soil. I'm on a corner lot with a significant downward grade on the front and side yards (20-30 degrees maybe?), and the backyard is very heavily shaded from the trees around the property. The backyard doesn't even have weeds growing, its just dirt. I took soil samples and did a home nutrient test, and the results are as follows: pH - around 5.0-5.5 Nitrogen is low Phosphorus is average Potassium is high I also took some of the soil and put it in a clear container and filled it with water and shook it for a few minutes and then let it settle over the course of a few days. There's about 1.5 inches of sand, an 0.25 inch layer of silt, and a 0.25 layer of very fine particulate (I assume clay, right?). This sort of makes sense to me, since having spotty patches of weeds for years on a downgrade would probably wash away all the finer particles in the soil. The one bit of good news is that the back of the lot is wooded and has years of un-raked leaves that have fallen and formed a layer of compost several inches deep. I can potentially use that as a starter for a compost pile to add nutrients back to the soil. Also this property is in Maryland, USA. So where do I go from here? I understand that now (mid-September) is when I want to be putting down grass seed, but I'm pretty sure I shouldn't do that if weeds have overgrown everywhere and the soil chemical balance is off. Do I add ammonium nitrate and lime now, and spray for weeds, and then aerate and seed in a few weeks or what? Thanks!
Can you put lime on your lawn to combat dog pee right after fertlizing it? will it harm the grass so soon? I have a lawn service that treats my grass on a regular basis, however I don't believe they lime my lawn. I hear it promotes great color and growth, but my main goal is to combat dog pee in my yard. Since the lawn service comes every 6 weeks, can I harm my grass by putting lime down in between the lawn service coming?
Which is better to break up hard Indiana clay soil? lime or gypsum. I cannot grow any lawn grass.? And what is the best way to apply the lime or Gypsum. Before or after you rake the soil.
Would lime juice sprayed on a lawn hurt it? Okay, I have a mushroom problem on my lawn and I read that you can use lime to get rid of it.. so i used lime juice and after putting it on, I read that it was a different kind of lime (lime ferilizer not citus). so would lime juice on grass hurt my lawn?. what should I do?
I applied fertilizer and lime to my lawn in December. When should I do it again? I live in North Carolina and I have hybrid bermuda grass with some fescue. Should I apply lime now or wait again until December? Should I apply fertilizer now? It's been very warm here and the grass is already growing very well.
Is it grass or a weed in my lawn? I can't figure it out! It spreads pretty quickly and is really soft to the bare foot. It almost is like a centipede grass however it's darker green then i believe centipede is (lime green color). My lawn is primarily fescue, however i've put down scotts weed killer several times and it doesn't seem to do anything to these large patches. Is this a grass or weed?? It's darker green and the blades are pretty wide.
Has anyone heard of using lime dust on the spot where a dog urinates on the lawn? Lime dust is suppose to neutralize the urine and prevent the grass from dying.
My back lawn is a mess. How can I grow grass through moss, shade, and compact soil? I live in Northeast Ohio and we are selling our house within the next year. We have a shaded back yard on a ravine. All of the grass has died over the year and patches of moss and weeds have taken its place. The soil is compact, but it seams to drain well despite that. What can we do to start getting grass up? Should we til or aerate? Should we lay down compost and lime?
Growing grass under pine trees? We have a very small lawn with bordering pine trees. Each May/June I plant grass and it comes in fine but by August its alll dead or dying. I put down a lot of lime and also grub control and still all the grass dies by the fall. Any suugestions to keep the grass from dying each and every year?
Moss but no grass? I have a shady area (partial sun) on my front lawn that only seems to grow moss instead of grass. I have tried lime and shady grass seed mix but still cannot seem to grown any grass, just green moss. HELP?
what length should new grass be before it's first cut? i live in hong kong. the soil in my lawn is hard packed dirt and clay. drainage is not great but the bermuda grass i planted has taken well. i put lime, fertilizer and a top dressing of top soil down to treat the soil. i'd like to know when and how i should cut it. also, when should i fertilize again (14-14-14)? this is my first attempt at grass so assume i know nothing which probably isn't far from the truth. thanks.

What can I do to fill out my lawn? My front lawn is very sparsely grassed. I have put down a lime treatment (to counteract the TONS of leaves that I cleared), fertilized, and I water regularly. However, the grass doesn't seem to be filling it. I could use some suggestions, and would it be worth it to have the soil analyzed?
My grass in my yard is turning into dirt! I live in East Texas. I have spread Scotts Turf Builder, Weed and Fe I have also put lime pellets out but to no avail. I could consult a lawn specialist but don't want to spend the money it would cost.
My husband rinsed out cement on my grass! Please help!? He was putting mortar between the veneer rocks on the little wall that makes my flowerbed. Some cement fell onto the grass, then when we rinsed the wall more cement got on the grass. The best was that he rinsed out the bucket he was using right in the middle of the lawn. Will this kill my grass? I have tried flushing it away with lots of water.... It wasnt tons of cement, but I thought the watery stuff might contain harsh stuff- lime or whatever.
How do i make my lawn thick and greener? My lawn is about 4 and half weeks old. I just cut it first time a few days ago. Should i apply fertilizer or lime anytime soon. I live in Dover Delaware, and its a fescue grass, mixed with annual rye. I want my lawn to become luciously green, and thick. i live in ky and need to know when to seed my lawn and what to put down with it.? I need to know if now is a good time to seed my lawn and if i should put down anything like lime or a fertilizer of some type. I lawn is across from a field and a tall grass like wheat or something keeps passing over to my yard. In the past i have had my yard sprayed but this year i'm going it alone. Any advice would be great thanks.
How do I start a new lawn? I live in upstate NY andI have an area of about 150 square feet that is covered by river rocks (about 2 inches each). There is both sun and shade in the area. I want a lawn in this area but do not want to remove the rocks as it is a lot of work. I plan to cover the area with lawnscape fabric, put down dirt, and a small layer of top soil. I will spread the grass seed and fertilizer and cover it with straw. Will this method work or is there a better way? Should I use lime or peat moss, if so at what stage?
How to fill in barepots in a new lawn/ thicken up lawn in southern Ohio area? I built a new house last year, and at the end of the summer last year we had a terrible drought. About early Sept. when fall was coming, I planted my grass seed. It was a Tall Fescue/Ky Blue grass mix (called Urban Extacy by Southwest Landmark). The soil was like powder when I sewed the seed, put down straw and we got decent rain within days of planting, and it was not overly dry from then on. I still have a terrible looking lawn with many barespot (I am looking at bare dirt in many spots). Where do I start to get it to fill in to a nice lush lawn? More seed (what kind), fertilizer (what kind), lime. etc? All I know is to buy more seed, drop it in the spreader and start spreading. I know next to nothing about seed types, fertilizers, and lime. Please help, and keep in minde I have an acre and a half of yard with next to no shade, and watering that much lawn just isn't possible. Thanks, JW
Lawn is still brown? My front lawn is green, however, my backyard lawn has a good deal of brown on it still. My neighbors lawns are currently all green. Last year we had a small portion that was brown so I raked up the dead grass and threw down some grass seed and it was fine a few weeks later. This year though, I would say like 50% is still brown, I have fertilized and put lime when I was suppose to. Not sure if perhaps I put too much lime and cause damage? Appreciate any feedback.
What do you think of my poems? This one is a ten line free verse about a color and 5 lines need to do with the 6 senses. Green smells like decorating a freshly cut Chiristmas tree Gree is the warmth of summer Green tastes like jiggly lime green jell-o Green is the swiftness of a catipillar Green feels like a smooth blade of grass Green is the freshness of a rain forest Green looks like the dirty moss on a pond Green is tulips growing in spring Green is a lawn mower cutting grass Green is lightning bugs in a Field These are Hiakus Green scaley and quick he bounces on lily pads he croaks all night swiftly flying high it swoops down to the water with colorful wings FALL Colors are vibrant the leaves crunch under my toes (or should I say feet) scents of apple pie SPRING the scent of flowers a breeze blowing at my face butterflies in flight home to bugs and birds green leaves blowing in the breeze standing tall and proud
Lawn Question..please help? I have a small yard about 350 sq. feet. I called a lawn company to find out how much it would cost to turn it over and plant seed. The lawn is almost all weeds and I want to have grass instead of weeds. The charge was going to be about 625.00. This included the turn over, topsoil and lime. Since I don't have that kind of money to spend right now, I thought about doing it myself. So the question is this..when I turn it over do I have to remove the weeds as I go along? If I don't remove them will they just grow back? I think it would be difficult to get all of it. So should I just turn it over, add some top soil, seed and fertilize?
I have a clay waterlogged garden and want a lawn this year. I also have a dog...? I have moved into a house with a back garden that is mainly grass. It appears to be mostly clay and has become waterlogged and a complete mess (with the dog in and out over it too). I would like to have a lawn if possible this year and I wondered which you think is the best way to cheaply and quickly deal with the clay / lawn problem. I had considered removing top few inches, then sand & lime dug in, sand surface, raked flat & then turfed ??? BTW Do not want to spend more than ness as the house is rented only. Just to make sense of the dog statement - the dog goes in and out of course and an additional problem at the moment is that he is walking this wet soil in and out if we don't stop him. What benefit is Lime in this situation if any?
After my party in early August, I need to get my lawn back. A guy from Lowe's gave the advice below. Agree? After party: activate underground sprinkler system (1 hour/day) dethatch with rental aerate with rental roll with rental reseed with Penn State mix of rye, fescue, blue grass starter fertilize mushroom composite over top to lightly cover month to come in fully lime in fall winterizer fertilizer late fall After party: activate underground sprinkler system (1 hour/day) dethatch with rental aerate with rental roll with rental reseed with Penn State mix of rye, fescue, blue grass starter fertilize mushroom composite over top to lightly cover month to come in fully lime in fall winterizer fertilizer late fall ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATION DETAILS: I currently have a thatch problem. Penn State is most likely a local brand (I'm in Pittsburgh). Penn State is also nationally renowned for its agriculture school. This Lowe's doesn't rent any of the suggested equipment or the mushroom composite - I trusted I wasn't getting a sales pitch, I just want to make sure the information sounded correct. Additional thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thanks! ADDITIONAL CLARIFICATION DETAILS: I currently have a thatch problem. Penn State is most likely a local brand (I'm in Pittsburgh).
