Anyone have experience with artificial grass? I have two small dogs and a smaller back yard. My grass area is only 30 square feet. My dogs kill the grass with their urine on a weekly basis. I have to replace the sod every month. I'm thinking about replacing the grass with artificial grass. The websites claim it's almost like real grass. Anyone know if that's true? Any specific brands you would recommend? How durable is it? Why don't I hose it down?... Because I work out of the home and can't monitor them 24/7. artificial grass vs. natural grass - home backyard? Has anyone tried replacing real grass in their backyard with artificial grass? It is too shady for real grass to grow and I have a 6 year old child with some play equipment (trampoline, swing set, fort). I know that grass will not grow underneath the play equipment but even the surrounding areas do not have much luck. I have thinned out all the oaks and there is some sunlight that comes through but I don't think it will ever be a lush lawn. My 2 dogs, (12lb maltese and 30 lbs cocker spanial mix) will be there max. of 6 hours a day (on the days i work) with the door to the garage open as well for their use. Anyone know approximately how much it will cost? and if there is a specific brand that works good for dogs? (does the brand even make any difference?) Thank you!

Is it possible to grow grass over a concrete slab? Stupid question maybe, but I would like to know if it is possible to grow grass over a concrete slab? Details: I live in Baltimore City and have a very tiny and uninspiring concrete slab patio (enclosed by a fence) behind my rowhome. The concrete slab has a concrete border approximately 7 inches higher than the slab itself. Note: It's not feasible/affordable to break up the concrete and start anew. My dog has to have grass or a rug to go to the restroom on.? Her dog run which she has a doggy door from the house to is kept spotless but we have no grass but mulch in it. is there some way to make grass grow in a shady yard? The yard is very shady.? There are no pets. It's just that the yard is very shady. My house blocks the sun from the yard since it’s positioned just to the south. What little sun is above the yard for a short time, is blocked by a large tree. The yard is kind of a strip about 15 feet wide between the house and the tree. When we moved in we had the yard tilled and seeded. Sprinklers were already installed and working. The seed never worked so we put in sod and followed the gardener’s directions on watering, but it died after 6 months. We have followed up with more seed and fertilizer, but it's now mostly brown again. Do I have any options other than artificial grass? Can I use a high quality artificial turf (indoor/outdoor carpet) as a bathroom flooring? In my mind, it would look really great. New synthetic grass / artificial turfs are MUCH better looking than they used to be and some even feel really great on your bare feet. Would they work well for a bathroom flooring?
